Behavioral Observation of Students in Schools (BOSS) is a research-based systematic observation method. BOSS allows observers, such as school counselors, to compare the behavior of a target student to that of his peers. This method is an effective tool to objectively determine if problem behavior exists.
Conducting BOSS with a timer, pen, and paper can be challenging. It is difficult to monitor a student’s behavior while keeping track of time and marking down results. This web application attempts to simplify the data collection process by having observations automatically submitted at the end of a time interval. In addition, this application eliminates the tedious process of compiling results. At the end of a session, a statistical report is automatically generated.
